Siskin Editor Needed!!!!!

The Board has received the following communication from the long-time editor of our very fine newsletter:

I have run out of time to continue working on The Siskin. After 12 years, it's time to turn it over to someone else. If you are interested in taking it on, or know someone else who is, please e-mail me or have them e-mail me (
sinderbob@yahoo.com), so we can begin the transition for the August edition as soon as possible.

If need be, I can handle the August edition in order to work with the next editor in putting it together.

Thanks,

Bob Sindermann

NVBC BYLAW CHANGE

The NVBC has been approved as a non-profit  - 501(c)(3) - organization. In order to fulfill certain requirements set forth in the application for that status, it was necessary to change a section of our bylaws.

ARTICLE VIII had read:

In the event of dissolution of the Organization, its net assets shall be distributed exclusively to one or more organizations selected by the Board of Directors, which are engaged in activities substantially similar to those of this Organization.

ARTICLE VIII  now reads:

Upon the dissolution of the organization, assets shall be distributed for one or more exempt purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code, or shall be distributed to the federal government, or to state or local government for a public purpose.

This change was approved by the Board of Directors at our meeting on March 6, 2007 and by a majority of the members who were present at our general meeting on April 26, 2007.

We are grateful to Charlie Chambers for his diligent work in helping us to achieve this status. THANKS CHARLIE!
